If you only ‘do’ the face or only ‘do’ the neck, it’s going to look mismatched and imbalanced.
This is obvious.
But, even so, many surgeons will focus on a single area of the face or perform facelift surgery and neglect the neck, or vice versa.

It applies to something as simple as getting ready for each day. Considering what to wear involves assessing which items ‘go’ with each other. Expressions of unique individuation are to be celebrated.
When an item of clothing doesn’t suit you, it changes your whole ‘look’ and draws unwanted attention.
If you wear make-up, you’ll likely have a colour palette that suits you. You’ll apply foundation from the neck up to the face, so that there is no mismatch in colour.
Even in nature, we can observe the principle of interdependence – teaching us that systems are wholly interconnected. Every element within a healthy natural system has a value and plays a part in the healthy functioning of the whole.

Wholistic, Aesthetic
My select approach to performing this advanced facial plastic surgical procedure is wholistic in that I aesthetically consider the whole face and neck area.
Re-tensioning the SMAS and the platysma are integral.
I may also access and contour the deep neck: subplatysmal fat, anterial digastric muscles and submandibular salivary glands. Suturing the central platysma bands together enables a corset-like effect in the neck when the lateral SMAS and platysma are tensioned and repositioned. These more technical terms are explained in a consultation, so that you can appreciate the anatomical features we focus on.
As well as performing Deep Plane Face and Neck Lift surgery I almost always perform brow lift surgery.
Each area in the face and neck, when operated on, creates an issue with the adjacent area. Lifting the neck only creates a fold of skin in the lower face which needs to be addressed. Lifting the lower face, in turn, creates a fold in the mid face, which needs to be addressed. Lifting the mid face creates a fold of skin around the lateral eyes which is addressed by brow lift surgery.
