Master Symposium in Sydney

One of the most gratifying aspects of being a facial plastic surgeon in Australia is being part of a professional community that comes together frequently in the spirit of peer-to-peer continuing education. As aesthetic surgeons, our goal is to provide the best possible outcomes for our patients, so we gather to explore revolutionary advancements in cosmetic techniques and tools and to share, from the frontlines, stories of success and challenges.
It’s a wonderful way to learn and grow and add skilful colleagues to our professional networks.
Announcement from Dr George Marcells, President, AAFPS
As President of AAFPS, the Australasian Academy of Facial Plastic Surgery, I’m pleased to announce that the organisation will host The Triennial Masters’ Symposium in Sydney this September 2014 with special emphasis on Blepharoplasty and Upper Facial Rejuvenation.
First held in 2011, the Symposium was a unique opportunity for more than 200 experts in blepharoplasty and periorbital rejuvenation from around the world to come together and discuss exciting advancements, innovations and challenges in the field. This truly collegial Symposium is being made possible with support from members of the Australian & New Zealand Society of Ophthalmic Plastic Surgeons (ANZSOPS), and the Australasian Society of Plastic Surgery (ASPS).
Dr George Marcells Speaks in Sydney
I’m honoured to have been selected to speak at a number of the talks during this year’s two-day event. I’ll be offering my perspective at panels on topics I care about passionately:
- Brow Rejuvenation
- Direct Brow Lifting Techniques
- Pretrichial Brow Lift
- Lower Lid Surgery
Being in Sydney is always a joy. It is, by all definitions, our country’s most cosmopolitan city. I have a great affection for its pristine beaches, iconic buildings, historic landmarks and award-winning restaurants. It’s a pleasure to share it with my visiting colleagues, many of whom extend their visit to take in Sydney, as our symposium is intensive and doesn’t leave much time for anything but professional education.
Sharing Cosmetic Surgery Advancements in Sydney
The symposium will encompass all areas of aesthetic facial rejuvenation, concentrating on blepharoplasty, facial and brow aesthetics with special emphasis on anatomical and functional considerations. I’ll be discovering more about new, innovative, and cutting edge approaches from masters in the field who will help to define the state of the art in the early 21st Century.
I’m especially looking forward to attending special guest lectures, including a tour de force on facial transplantation and what it can teach us about aesthetic and functional patients.
I’ll tell you about my experiences in future posts.
