A Heady Cocktail for Skincare Treatments

Do you enjoy a well-mixed cocktail, where the elements of the drink enhance one another so beautifully that the sum of the whole is greater than the sum of its parts? We apply that same mixologist philosophy to skincare. In the same way that a top bartender knows which spirits will satisfy a customer’s taste, the experts at our practice know which treatments to recommend.
We’ve made some exciting additions to our menu of treatments, and today’s article is dedicated to them. They can be enjoyed as standalone services or in combination with other anti-ageing procedures.
A Needling Suspicion Your Skin Needs Help
The latest addition to our treatment family is Dermapen, a hot-off-the-press method of micro-needling. In a bit of word salad, microneedling is good for mesotherapy. “Micro” refers to the size of the needles, while “meso” refers to the introduction, via the needles, of minerals, vitamins, co-enzymes and amino acids just below the epidermis. Areas that respond well to treatment include:
- Face – wrinkles
- Neck – slack skin
- Chest – skin quality, texture, and appearance
- Hands – pigmentation
- Certain other areas of the body – stretch marks
Unlike lasers, Dermapen treatments are safe for people of all skin types. Tiny needles make tiny punctures in your skin. The wounds created by the needles trigger your body’s natural healing resources, which, in turn, stimulate collagen production.
In addition to treating fine lines and wrinkles, Dermapen is also effective for the treatment of acne scars.
Go Into the Light…Come Out More Youthful
Therapy that uses light goes by many names: light therapy, coloured light therapy, LED therapy. They are all forms of a technology where a Light-Emitting Diode (LED) emits therapeutic wavelengths of light energy. We use it to treat
- Fine Lines
- Wrinkles
- Uneven skin tone
- Dull skin
- Enlarged pores
One key benefit is its safety. It can be used near the eyes and cannot be overused. Unlike a laser, LED therapy does not wound the skin. Instead, this non-invasive approach hits the dermis layer of the skin, stimulating fibroblast cells to increase collagen and elastic production. The result is skin that is plump and responsive.
