George has always enjoyed Pink Floyd and has rediscovered vinyl.

- Favourite coffee: Greek!
“When I spent time in Greece 15 years ago, I fell in love with the taste of their coffee. I found it way more flavoursome,” says George. “Since then, I have continued to seek out Greek coffee. I still enjoy a variety of different coffee bean flavours however the beans are pulverised more finely for Greek coffee, and it is made in a briki (small saucepan).”
George has ONE cup of coffee a day: Greek, black (no milk), with one flat teaspoon of raw sugar.
- Healthy eating*
Staying optimally healthy is essential for the role of Facial Plastic Surgeon which involves close consultation with patients and long hours in the operating theatre.
If you’ve been following Dr Marcells for a while, you’ll already know that he follows a mostly Paleo diet. This approach favours eating fresh, unprocessed food and not eating cereals and grains. “It is better for me and I feel more refreshed.”
What you may not know is that George often waits until lunchtime to eat his first meal.
“Intermittent fasting improves health and longevity, and it also helps keep my weight stable.”
- George hates the gym
Playing sports such as touch football and squash are more his thing.

Sharing the most important part of life last… George is married and has two young sons. “I try to spend as much time as possible with my children.”
“2020 has been a big year, bringing many of us home for longer periods of time, and bringing what matters most more sharply into focus.”
