Your Before & After Facelift Photos Can Help Others

We have two kinds of patients at our Edgecliff practice: people who want everyone to know they’ve had a facelift and people who don’t.
We understand! Dr George Marcells’ medical expertise and aesthetic sensibilities help his patients look wonderfully refreshed and rejuvenated. There’s no pulled skin or distorted features that scream “I had a facelift.” As a result, some patients hesitate to let us take before-and-after pictures. They’re afraid their secret will get out.
We do everything we can to maintain our patients’ anonymity, because we consider before-and-after pictures essential to our practice. These pictures are an important tool for patients considering a facelift. They allow prospective patients to make a more informed decision about their own procedure based on outcomes that others received.
Some of the key things prospective patients want to assess include:
- The potential aesthetic benefits of a facelift
- Whether a facelift can address their specific cosmetic needs and goals
- How people look after their facelift has fully healed
Agreeing to sit for before-and-after pictures is a way to “pay it forward” and let someone else benefit from your experience.
Dr Marcells & Facelifts in the News
When The Sydney Morning Herald did an article on facelifts recently, it was no surprise that they contacted Dr George Marcells for his input. As president of the Australasian Academy of Facial Plastic Surgery, Dr Marcells is a go-to resource for journalists researching facts for their stories. He explained that innovative new procedures may delay the need for a facelift, but they are not a substitute for the “gold standard” in facial rejuvenation.
Dr Marcells is a master of the deep-plane facelift, the most effective way to address visible signs of facial ageing. Unlike the SMAS or “lunchtime” lift, the deep-plane technique targets the muscles beneath the skin. As a result, the skin can be draped, rather than pulled into position. “…the results are so good that they are almost invisible,” Dr Marcells told the Herald.
