Mentoplasty is the medical terms for chin augmentation. It’s the process of adding additional material to a patient’s chin to alter its size and shape. “There are a wide variety of implants to choose from,” says Dr Marcells. “The key is selecting one that matches a patient’s specific physiology.”

For some patients, a thoughtful application of dermal fillers may provide sufficient contouring to balance the feature. For others, implants are the way to go.
