Begin Again: Revision Facelift Surgery

Original work
Most of my patients are those who come to me for their original surgery. They understand that Deep Plane Face and Necklift surgery is superior to other methods of facelifting and requires a highly skilled surgeon to perform it.
They also appreciate that undergoing elective facial plastic surgery is a personal choice, one not to be rushed or coerced into. They have assessed risks and recovery protocols, had their questions answered, and feel that I understand what their desired outcome is.
Since I first performed Deep Plane Face and Necklift surgery in Australia over a decade ago, I have performed this procedure on hundreds of patients. The beauty of this approach is that you are very unlikely to be able to tell if a person has had a procedure at all. There is nothing distorted or un-natural looking, as the patient’s own ligaments are re-tensioned and repositioned.
Not happy
I’m now well known for performing Deep Plane Face and Necklift surgery and training other highly skilled surgeons in this approach.
Patients who have had unsatisfactory outcomes from facelifts performed elsewhere now also ask me what can be done.

Before and three weeks after Revision Deep Plane Face and Necklift surgery
Some of the areas that they are not happy with, from procedures performed elsewhere include:
- An overly “pulled” look
- Visible scarring
- Irregular pleating
- Irregular bumps
A revision facelift and neck-lift procedure may be possible.
Improved!
To perform Deep Plane Face and Neck Lift surgery you must have an advanced understanding of facial anatomy and technical expertise.
With this knowledge and experience, it’s sometimes possible to make the corrections of poorly performed work.

Before and three weeks after Revision Deep Plane Face and Necklift surgery with Dr Marcells. Note the defined jawline and neck contour. There is no pulled look or redundant neck tissue.
This patient presented with irregular bumps in her neck and under her jawline – the platysma muscle was still hanging down in the midline and there was visible scarring around the ears. There was an inadequate lift with redundant loose tissue of the neck and jawline as well as posterior pleating.
Your happiness
Having a facelift or any kind of facial plastic surgery is a big decision – time, money and trust are all involved.
When things don’t work out as you anticipate, it can cause distress.
It’s important to research and exercise due diligence. What may seem like a “quick fix”, or “bargain” could turn out to be costly. Your face is worthy of your deepest attention.
