Photo rejuvenation is achieved through intense pulsed light (IPL), a non-laser technology in which the light energy is converted to heat. It can treat the target area without affecting the surrounding skin, a great advantage in treating facial blemishes.
Photo rejuvenation can effectively treat sun damaged skin, even out skin colour and texture and minimise the flushed appearance of skin that occurs in some people due to a condition called Rosacea. It is useful for treating broken veins and capillaries that give the appearance of red streaks or blotches on the face.
When IPL is targeted to a treatment area, it fragments damaged skin, the particles of which are absorbed into the body, leaving smooth and refreshed skin on the surface.
The number of treatment sessions depends on the extent of skin damage or conditions needing treatment. For best results, a series of treatments, each lasting around 45 minutes, may be needed.
